The history behind the now legendary full moon parties goes like this: Years ago a group of tourists found that the most beautiful moon was in Koh Phangna and so they planned a party for their friends on the beach- the first full moon party. Over the years the party has become the biggest beach party in the world with people from all over the world joining the celebration.
Today there are about 10,000-30,000 people at the party each month. Usually the Full Moon Party starts with dusk, when the round moon makes its appearance over the white beach. In twilight, tables are put up on the beach and loads of lambs are lit creating an unforgettable atmosphere.
The later it gets the wilder the party gets. There are different music stages from trance, techno, commercial dance, reggae and many more. The event offers entertainment such as jugglers, fire- eaters, dancers and fireworks to entertain the party people. As the party goes on people can eat food from merchants and relax a bit in chill areas. When you refuelled your batteries you can return to the main beach and dive right back into the music.
At the Full Moon Parties there are no inhibitions, just people enjoying life to the fullest.
